Introducing Free Agent Teams at the DFW World Series

For the first time ever, the DFW World Series is proud to introduce a new opportunity for players who may not have the chance to compete with their current teams or who simply want to extend their season and enjoy more baseball. We are excited to offer "Free Agent" teams—a unique option for athletes who want to participate in the World Series experience, regardless of team affiliation.

What is a Free Agent Team?
Free Agent teams are made up of individual players from various teams who come together to form a roster for the DFW World Series. These teams will ONLY compete in the Open Divisions and enjoy full access to all the events, celebrations, and excitement the tournament has to offer.

Participation Details
The cost to join a Free Agent team is $420 per player, which includes:

  • Two custom jerseys

  • One team hat

  • Admission for the player’s entire family

  • Team entry fee

  • Umpire fees

  • A minimum of 5 games during the tournament

To ensure meaningful playing time for everyone, each Free Agent roster will be limited to 12 players maximum.

Eligibility Requirements
All players are eligible to join a Free Agent team as long as their current team is not participating in a USSSA-sanctioned event during the same time as the DFW World Series. Participation on a Free Agent team will not impact a player’s regular-season roster status. Managers are not required to release or drop players for them to join.
